I haven't heard about GeoNetwork collaboration, but two examples from 
Finland are:

Lounaispaikka: http://www.lounaispaikka.fi/ a regional (there aren't yet 
many others in Finland) SDI, which is developing a new system, afaik, 
mostly if not only on foss4g both on server and client side.

Paikkatietoikkuna, http://www.paikkatietoikkuna.fi/web/EN part of 
national SDI, is also quite new. It is also using foss and foss4g.
