I'd say let's use more this email list. We'd also need a bit more

What's that? :) Do you mean the flyer that's distributed at conferences etc?

I'll take some time to look/edit at the books' materials some time when
I have time and energy. For me it seems that the best way to work is to
use a short intensive time sometimes, as opposed to longer and
sustained. I also spend quite a lot of time developing my (our) twiki at
 geoinformatics.tkk.fi

Is there anything new on the format front? I've used Doxygen lately,
it's good for software docs and creates nice HTML and LaTeX books.
Something similar would eventually be good.
