[fdo-users] compile issues, mostly ok with 3.2.2

FYI: The 3.2.2 RC2 does compile for me, though I do have to run the same 
manual configure of Xerces. Good to see.

Most of the unittests fail, though. I take that as a bad sign? Any ideas 
how I diagnose and correct those?
