No idea why, those two builds have been specifically tested to work with PostGIS on FDO 3.3 (which should be what Map 2009 uses). 

 

Also, I don't fully understand what you mean by "OGR connection runs but the PostGIS connection doesn't".

      Thank you Traian, but with the alternative provider DLL you posted it 
still not working properly. In the FDO menu, the OGR Conections runs, but 
the PostGIS conection doesn't. 
      Any idea?

You can also try either of the following alternative provider DLL builds to 
see if it makes a difference:
