[FOSS4G-Oceania] FOSS4G Workshops and OSGeo-Live

Uni network is very fast and great capacity ( we are on something significantly larger than any NBN you can imagine too (https://www.aarnet.edu.au/), and many OS proxies in Australia are hosted at the uni – ie, CRAN for R has a uni mirror). This will be the low period, no students. Honestly, a few hundred people is nothing for the network. But good point – we will need to source guest access for the event.
USBs are a think of the past ( I need USB-C for my device now). Too much effort I would say, and waste of resources. A link would do.
Cameron – re MAC – point fully understood. What I mean is a fictitious example of a workshop where someone wants to cover a specific tool ecosystem that REQUIRES Mac.
Thanks,
Martin

Good point re: networks. I understand the uni wifi is very good, but it would be good to get confirmation that it happily handles significant load and concurrency.
It would probably be wise to have pre loaded USBs handy on the workshop day, is this something the OSGeo-LIVE provides, perchance?
