[FOSS4G-Oceania] [Webinar software] Which hubs need a Zoom seat?

Hello everyone,

I have access to a paid Zoom account through UTAS, so I could set up a Zoom meeting for the Hobart node. The account can hold up to 300 participants online. I have used it to have regular events with Datatas and works fine. It also has the capability of recording the events to the cloud.

Let me know if this sounds like a good option for the Hobart node.

If you do not want the participants to interact with each other, then use Zoom Webinar. If you want to encourage interaction, then Zoom Meetings is the preference. You can add Webinar features to your discounted Techsoup Zoom Pro account. You can also contact Techsoup in your country for more details.

If you're helping out at a conference hub and believe you need a seat, let us know and we can create one. Please only request a seat if you really need it to facilitate your local hub (one seat per hub). They're not cheap which is why we'll cancel the subscription at the end of the month.

I know it would have been nice to use an open source tool here, but Jitsi has not proven reliable at scale and BigBlueButton<https://bigbluebutton.org/> is not something anyone has had time to configure. If anyone would like to put their hand up to help facilitate this for future webinars, feel free.
