If there is a concern that distance will impact the
number and type of workshop/lab/presentation submissions,
then perhaps the amount, type, and distribution of
discounts should be different for 2008?


Should the LOC consider having an "invitee" discount?
For example, if by the submission deadline there are
no (workshop/lab/presentation) submissions for a particular
popular topic, do you have a 'second round' where you
invite submissions from a select group of potential
candidates, and if a submission from an invitee is accepted,
then they receive some additional level of discount?
