It sounds like a great idea.

We should definitely post information and advertise in position IT. I do
feel that if we are going to advertise somewhere we need to make it look
professional and not just something we slapped together.

I think we should prepare an A5 advert to go into a variety of media.

Further Geoconnexion is also interested in promoting the conference...

So that makes 3 mags so far

Directions
Geoconnexion
Position IT

We should definitely make the most of it.

We also need someone to coordinate marketing and advertising - I think I am
tasked with that! So if anyone has marketing and advertising leads please
forward them to me.

I will be in Gauteng at the end of the month and would be able to go and see
Claire and Chris.

In the mean time I think that we should prepare something, to include
conference theme, title, dates, venue, and website.

Inge

Folks,

Sounds like a good idea to me. A couple things to keep in mind:

  1) Try to avoid offering *exclusive* content to a publisher.

  2) Think a bit about who is going to put material into suitable form for
these publications to use. Are we talking about reworking some
presentations into articles? Some presenters might be willing to do
this but it isn't a forgone conclusion. Perhaps someone is willing
to take on an editorial role to do this on behalf of the conference
     committee?

Best regards,
