[FOSS4G2016] How are OSGeo projects represented on FOSS4G? (was: RE: LocationTech collab For Bonn?)

Hi all, 

Let me fork this thread. (and let the original LocTech collaboration discussion continue in the original thread)


Jeff's concern about the way OSGeo-projects are represented is a good point.
I would suggest that we have timeslots reserved for all the OSGeo projects (including the incubating projects, excluding the retired projects): their "30 minutes of fame"
Then, it's up to the individual projects to really use these reserved slots. 

If these time-slot reservations are not confirmed by the projects by a certain date, the reservation will be dropped.

Before you ignore my comments, maybe simply just explain the LOC's plan of how to make sure that OSGeo projects are represented.  If there is no plan, then we cannot just add in a track for another organization if we don't have such a plan for our own conference host organization (this is my point).
