Hi,

sorry guys.

1.)
It is not, that we do not want to be transparent, but we can't just
give everybody a look at the budget plannings and then have an open
discussion where to invest the potential income. It is simply not that
simple. For all this we have the financial team and also Steven keeping
an eye on that from OSGeo side. This is not the place, where
transparency helps, it will just open the door for endless and senseless
discussions.
What I can tell you, is that we definitely need 660 paying attendees in
order to cover our approximated costs, 50% early Bird, 50% regular plus
75% of the workshops sold.
And we have 20% of the workshops and ~ 300 paying people on Early Bird
of which ~30 are only 1 day tickets.
Conclusion:
**We are far away from allocating gifts to anybody**

2.)
The crunchpoint is quite easy: We can't just say "okay, we allow you,
you and you to get a reduced/free ticket" and "you, you and you have to
pay full price".
I am convinced, that all of our rules have to be equal to everybody and
that's the only way to handle these issues in an open and transparent
way. Also there are already people that registered under the announced
conditions. So it is not fair reducing fees to anybody afterwards.

Not acting like this means acting arbitrary and with that, we make
mistakes and also ourselves (justifiaybly) attackable.

We will open the financial plannings to everybody who is willing to
have an insight **after** the conference.
Also I am totally +1 with Volker to have such a report.
