[gdal-dev] 1.7.1 build error

Hey Brian,

I had a similar issue with my build earlier this week (on Ubuntu 9.10,
64bit).  I had the same error at one point... but I don't believe it was at
libjasper.a.

Are you attempting to build with hdf4 and/or netcdf?  My problem seemed to
result from some conflicting settings with those installs.  I ended up
rebuilding hdf4, hdf5, and netcdf (in that order) and I can send you my
configuration settings if you're interested.
