[Geomoose-users] Mouseover features?

So, I read up on the UTF thing, am I correct in thinking you could conceivably use this to apply multiple links per symbol based on the pixel values  in the symbol.  Say I used a traffic light symbol (red,yellow,green), then I could use each color (or rather that position) in the symbol to link to different information, all for the same feature/symbol???

We actually have code integrated into the proposed 2.7 that will allow for mouse-overs on vector layers.  We've been chatting about UTF Grid support but left it off the table for the time being.  I'm in support of adding it (since it's becoming increasingly "standard") but UTF Grid additions will require some consideration as to how to properly implement in scope of the rest of the GeoMOOSE user experience.

That feature was begrudgingly pulled (at 2.0?) in favor or the identify tool because it was causing too much trouble with browser stability.  It was image map based and as the image maps got large a certain common browser would grind to a halt.

With newer browsers and techniques, there has been talk of adding it again.
