The CSS changes should be included in the 2.9.3 package.

I just verified on http://demo.geomoose.org/2.9/

You'll need to add the following to your site.css file...

.spite-control.sprite-control-metadata {
 /* style the metadata icon */
}

.catalog-layer-controls {
 display: inline-block;
}

.catalog-layer-titlebar {
  display: inline-block;
}
