[GeoNode-devel] Upgrade of Geoserver from 2.5 to 2.9

Dear Dimitris,
the current master branch of
https://github.com/GeoNode/geoserver-geonode-ext is already based on
GeoServer 2.9.x.

Also here http://build.geonode.org/geoserver/latest/ you can also find the
compiled version already along with the upgraded data dir.

The only advice is that you will need to use Java 8+ to let it working.

Also, I would like to point out that the GeoNode 2.5+ already relies on the
the new GeoServer version.

Again pay attention to the Java version, GeoServer 2.9+ works *only* with
Java 8+.
