[GeoNode-devel] Few notes on GeoNode branch 2.7.x

Dear all,
recently I have forked from master a branch 2.7.x of GeoNode.

I'm writing some lines here in order to provide you some glance on the work
there and what it is containing.

1. First point, 2.7.x is aligned with ALL commits on master and 2.6.x
*except* the new notification and pubsub stuff which is still a work in
progress

2. Secondly, 2.7.x works against GeoServer 2.10.x with a first support for
QGis styles. The support is not yet full compliant on GeoServer side, but
nevertheless you can create your style on QGis client, export is as an SLD
(for rasters you will need to use the SLD4Raster plugin) and import it
directly on GeoServer. With minor manual editing it will result in
something almost identical to QGis. *WARNING* there are limitations. Please
refer to GeoServer documentation about that.

3. 2.7.x has improvements and fixes oriented to *stabilization". It is
constantly tested on real use case, maintained and updated in order to
improve performances, functionalities and reliability.
As soon as possible the idea would be to allow the master become 2.8.x+ and
2.7.x next candidate for the GeoNode release.

Long story short, please use it, test it and let's have a plan for pushing
forward further GeoNode releases.
