Hello Paolo,
"master" branch (aka 2.10rc5) is almost ready for the next stable 2.10
release, which will happen in June.

2.8.1 is stable but also has a lot of bugs and issues
2.8.x (aka 2.8.2) is an update of 2.8.1 backporting most of the critical
2.10.x bugfixes, but it is still based on a very old version of Django, 1.8
actually.

I kindly suggest you to re-base your development on master branch.
We will tag and branch 2.10.x right after the 2.10.0 release in June.

Cheers,
Alessio.
