Yes, it should be a permissions configuration. Although if you see the layer in the geosite, then the thumbnail should work. If tihs is not the case please open a bug in github.

yes, that's right.

By the way if I set the thumb from the layer properties from one of the geosites the new thumb has the background but not layer. If I set the thumb from the master it works correctly.

I suppose this issue is due to somehow grant of the layer at geosites level, isn't it?

On layer save it shouldn't keep the background, it will keep it only if you use set thumbnail from layer detail -> edit layer.

I changed the grants of the folder:


/dati/geonode/geonode/contrib/geosites/uploaded/thumb and layers


in 755.

Now I have what you expected: the layer without the background.


If I set the thumb from the master site, it works correctly.

Hi, I would expect the opposite, only having the layer and not the background, check in geoserver logs what happens when you save the layer

I have a problem if I modify layer information, because on saving layer

the thumbnail changes and it includes only the basemap.
