[GeoNode-users] Leaflet settings

Hi Alessio,
I was able to add a custom BASELAYER via local_settings after looking at api_basemaps contrib app (I needed to use a custom URL).
Now I have to understand how to do the same thing with an app that uses MapStore2 :D

Hi Alessio,
since my 2.7.5 installation appeared to be outdated as client library was missing, I tried using a fresh 2.8 installation: as default, the application still tries to download tiles from openstreetmap.org
Digging into the code, I found different templates and configurations for leaflet, but I still don't understand how to change tile provider, or any other setting.
Can you give me some further instructions on this?
Thank you very much,
Stefano

I didn't realize that, sorry! I'll investigate this with our IT.
I also setup a separate page to test Leaflet with MapBox and it works fine...
By the way, do the settings you listed before refer to the Python module django-geonode-client I see in the requirements.txt file? I'll try using that also.
Thanks,
Stefano

Hi Stefano,
from what you are saying I guess the problem is on your network then, maybe some firewall preventing you to load https osm tiles.
I currently can access those tiles without problems

Hi Alessio,
well, actually my installation in version 2.7.5 and doesn't have any of the settings you're talking about; I guess they were introduced later. I created a Django project based on template on geonode-project Github repository, so Geonode itself is a requirement of the project and the source code is into my virtual environment. These settings are not listed in Geonode settings file, nor in my project settings file.
Having said that, I'm not sure on how to proceed, also because I'm currently not able of performing a new installation, since I get broken dependencies issues, like so:
django-haystack 2.8.0 has requirement Django>=1.11, but you'll have django 1.8.19 which is incompatible.
docker 3.1.1 has requirement requests!=2.18.0,>=2.14.2, but you'll have requests 2.11.1 which is incompatible.
pycsw 2.0.3 has requirement OWSLib==0.10.3, but you'll have owslib 0.15.0 which is incompatible.
pycsw 2.0.3 has requirement pyproj==1.9.3, but you'll have pyproj 1.9.5.1 which is incompatible.
pycsw 2.0.3 has requirement Shapely==1.3.1, but you'll have shapely 1.5.17 which is incompatible.
flake8 2.5.4 has requirement pyflakes<1.1,>=0.8.1, but you'll have pyflakes 1.2.3 which is incompatible.
I Think I could have the same issue that exists on the website http://disasterrisk.af/http://disasterrisk.af/ where tiles are not loded in layer pages, nor in Risk Management Tools pages.

Hi Stefano,
I just started doing some tests with Leaflet. Did not taken a look at the background layers configuration yet.
First of all
-------------
On settings.py (or local_settings.py) in order to enable the Leaflet client library you now have to change the following ones
# Default preview library
GEONODE_CLIENT_LAYER_PREVIEW_LIBRARY = 'leaflet' # DEPRECATED use HOOKSET instead
GEONODE_CLIENT_HOOKSET = "geonode.client.hooksets.LeafletHookSet"
Secondly
------------
I noticed that the Layer Details view works fine
[cid:ii_jh7h9wya1_1636324120a84bf8]
but the Map Composer has some issues.
Can you please describe in details your use case?

Alessio Fabiani

Hi Alessio,
I have a bunch of errors where Leaflet is marked as initiatior of request (see attachment). This is from a page in a custom Geonode project; however, tiles are not loading in Geonode layer pages too.
Thanks,
Stefano

So, in GeoNode 2.7 the Javascript context of the map is a bit different from the precious versions. It contains more informations about layer projection and temporal dimension.
Most probably the old Leaflet JS map configuration is no more able to find the layer configurations from the new-style json.
I'll try to take a look at this. In the meantime, can you confirm that you have a bunch of Javascript errors when trying to load the Leaflet viewer?

Alessio Fabiani

Hi everyone,
map tiles suddenly stopped loading on my Geonode installation (2.7); the urls generated by Leaflet are like https://c.tile.openstreetmap.org/3/3/2.png and simply won't load.
When I first installed Geonode I left all map and layers settings as default and everything worked. Can you address me on how I'm supposed to configure Geonode's Leaflet to use another layer provider, such as Mapbox, or do you have different suggestions to solve my issue?
Thanks,
Stefano
