Hi everybody,
I've installed geonode 2.8 on debian testing (buster) and started a geonode
project following the advices of the list and the project readme and
develoeprs workshop, and also this part of the guide

http://docs.geonode.org/en/master/tutorials/install_and_admin/geonode_install/index.html

I was able to make it working on devlopment mode (port 8000 with django
webserver and jetty) but we need to setup also the production environment
so I went ahead installing apache and tomcat8...

1) installing tomcat 8.5.32 on testing didn't work with java 8, geoserver
didn't start.
2) installing tomcat 8.5.33 from binaries and geoserver 2.12 war geoserver
was working but I wasn't able to activate geonode authentication
3) in the meantime tomcat 8.5.333 was packed for debian buster but
geoserver doesn't start: here is the excerpt from catalina.out log with
error "one or more listeneres failed to start" there's no geoserver.log in
geoserver -logs dir.:

of JARs that were scanned but no TLDs were found in them. Skipping unneeded
JARs during scanning can improve startup time and JSP compilation time.
