I don't think this is supported out of the box; I believe, it would require
some development both in terms of supporting the additional elements in the
model as well as in terms of outputting them.

 One way to achieve that is to register them in GeoServer and then call the
updateLayers command; in any case, I believe we would need to make sure we
do not loose any of the standard GeoNode functionalities.
