Dear Geonode Users,
I hope you're all doing well. Has anyone experienced *issues with
permissions for editing dataset*? I recently installed version 4.x (stable)
using Docker containers, and the installation went smoothly. For setting up
the .env file, I used the following command: create-envfile.py --https
--hostname="geo2.mg-test.eu" --env_type="prod"
--email=matija.gercer at gmail.com
Geonode starts up without any major issues, and everything seems to be
working fine. After logging in as an admin, I uploaded 2-3 simple layers
(shp and gpkg). However, when I navigate to Datasets and select a layer, *I
can only see the options *to "Edit metadata" and "Upload metadata" in the
Edit toolbar.
Interestingly, when I repeat the same steps on https://stable.demo.geonode.org
<https://stable.demo.geonode.org%20/> as a registered user, I'm able to
edit and upload styles (.sld) for my layers without any problems.
If I upload a Shapefile with the .sld included, the layer automatically
adopts that style, but I'm unable to change it afterward. I've tried
adjusting the Django settings within the GUI, checked all permissions, and
even experimented with different users (registered later and uploaded new
layers) and different layers. I'm unsure why, as a superuser (or any other
user), *I can't edit the style, while I can do so individually in custom
Map. *
I've also tried using the master branch and the 4.2.2 branch as suggested
in the installation instructions. The Geonode demo is currently available
here: https://geo2.mg-test.eu/#/
Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards.
