[GeoNode-users] Remote WMS services with TIME dimension in geonode 4.3

Hi Amedeo,

It depends on the support from the remote WMS server. The timeline tool in
MapStore is designed on the WMTS Multidimensional [1] module for Geoserver,
which implements the "Multidimensional WMTS domain discovery" extension [2]
proposal.
Indeed, the example you provide is not working. The very first request the
timeline widgets perform is a DescribeDomains request. This request fails
for that example, and if you try to run the animation you will see all
subsequent requests fail.

So, in theory, you should be able to use external time series resources if
they provide the expected support.
