Brad,
One of the things that Cygnus does not do for you
is set up the /bin connections. So, you have two
choices, use a symbolic link or use a mount.
Please tell me which system you are using and I can
help you better. Do a `cygcheck -v -s -r` and email
the output to me.
To do a link to wherever the Cygwin bin is installed.
first execute a bash shell, and do the
`ln -s /Cygwin/bin /bin`
To do it as a mount point, run a CMD window and
mkdir c:\bin, and run the command
`mount -b c:\Cygwin\bin /bin`
The configure and make system will now work.
Both commands above assume that you are using
Cygwin 1.1.2 and installed it under C:\Cygwin.
If you are using 95/98 I recommend upgrading
to NT or 2000. The video display drivers are
much better.

I figured out part of my problem in opening grass is that I have to
configure it and I have not gotten the configuration program to work
properly
yet..
As far as the rast.to.vect command I may have the command incorrect, but
what I am attempting to do is to convert images of architectural drawings of
an archaeological site that are at this moment in Tiffs into vecter dxf
files.
I am certain that this was done in GRASS when I did it as a student. I hope
it
wasn't in another program such as Idrisi or such.
Thanks
Brad
