Markus,

  I don't know anything about this package. But, if the capabilities are
available elsewhere within GRASS, then it could be dropped. If not, I vote
to keep it.

  Most of our work covers a small enough area that we work in the State
Plane Coordinate system; only rarely do we use Lambert Conformal Conic or
UTM.

  I'd rather standardize on postgres (for our stuff, anyway). Therefore, I
don't vote to keep it in.

  Again, I won't use it, so it's OK to drop it as far as I'm concerned.
