Well you did follow up on all this
and continued working on it.
But you are right: Everybody can become GRASS programmer of the week!
Just help with a couple of bugs!

You should ask bach the bug reporters on unreproducable problems.
If they stay unreproducable, they are bound to be closed.

Can be make this code conditional and add a --solaris-resize-fix
to the configure? AFAIK this would please everybody, right?
