I am the grass maintainer for Mandrake, and among other packages related
to grass, I also maintain gdal. gdal-1.1.9 requires an updated proj, but
there were a number of other packages I would like to have updated
(libtiff to 3.6, geotiff to 1.2.0) so I can enable geotiff support in
gdal. As such, I have not uploaded my packages to contrib yet, and the
package blocking this all (libtiff) is in main, so I can't update it. If
we can't update libtiff before release, I will update proj and gdal
(without geotiff support).

However, I can provide proj-4.4.7 (have them available now), gdal-1.1.9
(there is still one issue to fix for this package) etc for Mandrake 9.1,
in fact it is likely necessary to have full functionality from the
grass51 cvs packages available on my site.

Regards,
Buchan
