[GRASS5] i'm in totally mess about shortest path

i really have some trouble in shortest path algorithm. could any one tell me 
which algorithm the grass57 use? is it one kind Dijkstra? i would appreciate 
a lot if someone can tell me sth in detail. thanks a lot! *^-^*
