[GRASS5] v.mkgrid GRASS 5.7

Hi,

I cannot find v.mkgrid (there is only d.grid) in GRASS 5.7. 

I have only found this note

v.merge
v.mkgrid
v.mkquads
Note not in grass57, obsolete?

Is there any _special_ reason why this program has not been ported to GRASS 5.7?
