[GRASS5] [bug #3176] (grass) cygwin setup dies

Subject: cygwin setup dies

Platform: WindowsNT/2000/XP
grass obtained from: Trento Italy site
grass binary for platform: Downloaded precompiled Binaries
GRASS Version: 5.4 and 6.0

I have only a modem to install cygwin via setup.  Every time I start the process from the web site I get through a few dialog windows and then the process dies.  I have turned off my virus sheilds and firewalls.  

Is there a way to download the cygwin install/setup and run it from my computer?  (I have already downloaded the setup.exe but when it runs it also crashes).   I already downloaded all the required files for GRASS

from a faster connection.  I just need the cygwin install to work and it doesnt from the web... or it takes hours via the web.  What do I do?  Thanks, Bob at 3k modem speed.
