I wonder what many of the GRASS developers (those with write
access) think...

In the main source code directory:
wc -l contributors.csv
31 contributors.csv

I just added the list of contributors without CVS write access:
wc -l contributors_extra.csv
26 contributors_extra.csv

Certainly only a fraction is currently active.
