tip:

to get more NVIZ debug info, edit 

$GISBASE/etc/nviz2.2/scripts/nviz2.2_script

and near the top of the file, change DEBUG to "1"

#If set to 1 output debug statements
global DEBUG
set DEBUG 1


maybe it helps narrow down the problem.
