a couple of weeks ago I applied the patch which avoided using libproj in
the main loop, making things faster and fixing a modern rotational bug,
but I don't think that's relevant to what you describe below.
> I recently re-computed an annual global radiance calculation with GRASS7
(previously with GRASS65), using only the elevation input (previously used
elev, slope, aspect). The results were astounding. Zooming into a smaller
region and checking, it appears as if the reflected radiance raster was
all 0s and the diffuse radiance raster was a vertical gradient across the
region-- with no apparent influence from the local terrain. When using
slope and aspect inputs the output appears to be correct.

this is surprising news to me. please let us know what you find out.
I'd like to sort it out before applying the OpenCL GPU patches (but
the autoconf ./configure changes don't have to wait).
thanks,
