As William and I said, the problem is linked to making binaries that involve packaging certain dependencies, like wxPython. If you compile it yourself, it may well not be a problem.

I just tested the new brew recipe and it compiles fine. I had to set these to get wxgui working:

export GRASS_PYTHON=/usr/local/bin/pythonw
export PYTHONPATH=/usr/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages:$PYTHONPATH
