World Vector Shoreline (DMA)

	Has anyone worked with World Vector Shoreline in the past.  I have
the documentation and the data in ascii format all 168 Mb., but no software
or routine to convert it to a more usable format.  At present it is in 1 x 1
degree subfiles with numerous attributes to manage the topological information
and connecting line segments from adjacent cells.  I would like to get it into
GRASS since resolution is down to the one second level and would be desirable
in some situations.  The documentation indicates that it should not be used 
at a scale larger than 1:250,000 but that is not a problem for me.  
	Anyone out there interested or know anything about existing software
to translate this data set??  I am still trying to get in contact with the
appropriate person at DMA (read phone tag :-)  ), but no luck as of yet.
