format of grass files from 3.0 to 4.0

Dear Grass experts:
	Are the formats of grass files created with grass3.0 the same with 
grass4.0. I am trying to bring grass cell files created in 3.0 into ERDAS i.e.
IMAGINE and create a GIS file and then bring the file into ARC/INFO as a raster
file. I am having problems reading the grass3.0 file. The file created in 
grass4.0 worked fine.
