XGRASS compilation

Angela, speaking as another non-UNIX guru, I believe your problem is the
same as mine. I've been trying to compile XGRASS but get the same
problems.
The responses I got seem to indicate that XGRASS is only available for
MOTIF - shame that our SUN's only have OpenWindows (which is OpenLook
based).
The error comes when it tries to compile and needs the MOTIF include
files, starting with Xm.h, etc.
I've not found any way to solve this - I'd really like to get XGRASS up
and running as it sounds so much easier that typing in commands such as
'd.rast elevation.dem' what with my mistyping !!
My only hope is I've been told that a compiled version would not need
MOTIF, so I'm looking for such. It may be in the 'moon' compiled SUN code
section. However I only want the XGRASS not the whole set on binaries
(especially at 55+ Mbytes!). I can only hope that some kind person can
direct me to a source of just the XGRASS binaries.
One point is that there is a file (xgen.bin.sun.Z) in 'moon' \incoming -
I wonder if this is something to do with XGRASS, as I've got the
Postscript manual and it mentions 'xgen' program ??
Best of luck, let me know if you have any (good that is)
