The Release 4.3 of the PROJ.4 cartographic projection system has been
placed in charon.er.usgs.gov (128.128.40.24) ftp anon under directory
`pub/PROJ.4'. There are a few minor changes that will affect programmer
users of the projection library, but users of the application programs
should not be affected.
The PROJ.4 system provides cartographic projection support that covers
about 110 different map projections. In addition, a program, geod, for
performing forward and inverse geodesic (great circle) distance/azimuth
calculations and a datum conversion program, nad2nad, for U.S. users are
also included.
There is an email newsletter published about every 4-6 weeks on PROJ.4
activities. To subscribe, send an email note request to Internet
address below.
