v.proj,v.support

Hello all,

I am having difficulties in reprojecting vectors (from lat/lon to albers).
Could someone please advise me as to what might be causing the problem?
Here are the steps :

v.proj
v.support

The projection appears to run without any errors.  When I run v.support,
I get the following error messages :

When v.support is executed on other non-projected vector files, there appear
to be no errors (so far).  As far as I can tell, the errors appear only
after reprojecting.  I suspect v.proj.

GRASS was compiled from scratch and we are at update package 4.  We also
downloaded the file "mapgen.tar.Z", created a src.related directory, and
compiled mapgen and proj.

I noticed there is a v.proj directory in src.alpha/mapdev.  There is also
v.proj in the src.contrib/SCS/vector directory as well.  Could there
be a conflict here in the compilations? Or perhaps there is
some type of conflict between the v.proj and mapgen/proj compilations.
(I have been following the discussion about SCS proj and USGS proj)
