GRASS on 64bit machines

I have compiled GRASS on an alpha DU and I strongly suggest you to wait
the next week for beta4. This should be much easy to compile. For me beta3
was quite difficult,  lot of stops and changes to the code. This should change

in beta4

This is true. There is a temporary solution to that: before
porting the data on the 64bit architecture export
all the vector files to ascii (v.to.ascii). and once
on the 64bit platform do s.in.ascii.
