Hi there,

good news for users of precompiled GRASS 5 versions:
Philip Warner and me finally managed to update NVIZ
on relative paths. The new version is uploaded to
CVS, it will be included in the next binary releases
of GRASS 5, too.

Why relative paths:

NVIZ was the last module in GRASS with absolute
path coding. Those users who downloaded a precompiled
binary GRASS package had to install in /usr/local/grass-5.0b
otherwise NVIZ won't have worked.

Now you can install GRASS binaries anywhere on your
computer (e.g. /opt/grass5) and NVIZ will work.

Together will Philip's updates on segmentation faults the
NVIZ should be widely useable now without problems.
An new Linux binary NVIZ containing the seg.-fault update
you can download from
http://www.geog.uni-hannover.de/grass/grass5/binary/linux/
ftp://grass.baylor.edu/pub/grass/grass5/binary/linux/

-> nviz_update_linuxbin.tar.gz

Note: This package does not (yet) contain the path update.

We hope you enjoy it.
