This issue we'll address for the next major GRASS 5 release.
Soon we'll publish GRASS 5.0stable, then we'll go for a major
code reorganization and modularizing. As this might break much
for a short time, we have decided to release a stable GRASS 5
release first.

Please try the forthcoming GRASS 5stable. Stability will be heavily
improved.

The new man-page concept is build on HTML pages. We are currently
updating all missing man-pages in HTML format (most of it is
already available on the GRASS servers) and generate the MAN pages
from that.

As the fifo's are related to GRASS monitors only, they may stay in
/usr/lib/grass5/dev. For future we plan to replace the fifo concept by
sockets (this will allow to have graphical output on Windows).

Kind regards
