[GRASSLIST:2827] Display Problem in Backdrop CELL Map

Respected All,
                I want to digitize a scaned toposheet map . I have done
the registration . I am  able to display with the help of raster
display module . But when I run v.digit and display it as a Backdrop CELL
Map for digitization , graphics display  monitor for image becomes white .
And I am not able to display the image for digitization . I have also used
 
             g.region rast=<filename>

But this is not helping .
Please help me in this regard .
