[GRASSLIST:2184] How to Display USGS DEM Files?

  I imported a USGS 24K DEM into GRASS5 using r.in.gdal. I can display it
using d.rast, but all I see is a red rectangle at a slight angle to an
underlying yellow rectangle.

  Am I using the incorrect module to view it? Am I supposed to see a 3D
surface from this file or do I need to process it further?
