[GRASSLIST:5651] urgent question

Hello all,
 

 
I have a 'urgent' question:
 
is there a way I can assign the z-values in a raster (DEM) map
 
to the vertex of a vector map (drainage).
 
I need this to produce a 'hidraulic gradient' map, the
 
method is important for my PhD project.
