gdal alone seems to work fine with libgrass.
Doing gdalinfo --formats shows grass format accessibility
Doing gdalinfo /home/blumer/GRASSDATA/global/PERMANENT/cellhd/nations
displays the content without errors
What do you mean by verifying I am getting the right libgdal?
