GDAL is a mandatory dependency for GRASS 6.x. You can obtain it from:

	http://www.gdal.org/

If you already have it, and it's installed in /usr/local/lib, check
that /usr/local/lib is listed in /etc/ld.so.conf; if it isn't, add it
then run "ldconfig".
