[GRASS-user] postgres and boolean data

Dear grass users,
I have a table connected to a map..
this table contains, among the others, boolean data...
if I try to make a copy of this map (g.copy) the obtained map is
connected to a table that lose boolean data... that are stored as
characters (0 and 1)...
is there a way to avoid this problem...
otherway each time I need to change column type...
