[GRASS-user] Steps Required to run sample program in Grass

Hi !!

I want to know steps needed for the compilation & running the sample program
in grass.
I want to run one sample program say import of raster image..
please give the steps for executing this.it will help me to start
development on grass.



I have tried to add r.example in the raster dir then make the neccesary
changes in Make file..
then I run make,make install ..but it does not work..
