[GRASS-user] import DWG files ?

Another option is to get the free ODA (no membership necessary)  
'EveryDWG' converter.  It will nicely convert all dwgs or binary dxfs  
to ASCI dxf and then you can use v.in.dxf.  Unfortunately it only runs  
on Windows.
