[GRASS-user] problem to install grass70 on ubuntu 12.04 and dependencies for kriging

Hi Alex
I am still trying to use v.krige, and as a test-run on one data set I've
set g.region res=10 to check I have all the dependencies installed.
v.krige seems to be running but, perhaps foolishly, I was expecting to
see some progress on the 'progress bar' for v.krige in the GUI.
Here is the current command output from v.krige I have:
(Fri Aug 29 12:23:29 2014)
v.krige input=tv1236_out_shft at user1 column=z1
output=tv1236_out_shft_kriging_res10 package=gstat --overwrite
output_var=tv1236_out_shft_kriging.var_res10

Nothing further after 2 hours. This is 4ha of data, points every 10cm
spaced along lines 0.5 apart. But the region set to 10 should mean some
progress with v.krige by now, presumably(?).
Just to confirm I have libgeos-dev, libproj-dev, and build essential
successfully installed, and rpy2. Are there any other dependencies or R
packages I require to get v.krige working?
There are various posts on v.krige, the
grasswiki.osgeo.org/wiki/V.krige_GSoC_2009 refers to installation of
maptools (install.packages ("maptools", dep=T), I presume automap
replaces maptools at this stage? I tried to install maptools in R and
got the following output:
> install.packages("maptools", dep=T)

Can you offer any further advice on missing dependencies of R packages I
require for v.krige?
Thanks,
John.
